My Silver Squill is blooming!!!

Can you see the white blooms leaning over on the red ladybug in the one picture? It is difficult to get a good pic of the long stalks! These are the neatest plants...a bulb for a root, and the color of the leaves is really groovy! They are spotty...I just love them so much. I was looking to add more plants in my yard with white blooms, and look here...I have another one!!! I can hardly wait to see them start making more...I want a ton of these!
They only grow to 6 inches, evidently, and are good in zones 10a, 10b, and 11, which is right in my little section of the world (South Florida). They like full sun, which I am so happy to hear, because they are planted in one of my succulent tires.
Silver Squill are drought resistant (thank God, hee hee hee)!!!
Don't you agree they are just really cool, and ultra great??? I'm in love!

Gee, they are small arn't theybut they sure sound perfect for your area. Isn't it fun to get excited about a bloom. I am the same way.

Hey, I just looked at my silver squill and it has flowers too! And cobwebs. Poor, neglected plants at my house :(

These are great little plants... I can't leave them outside all year though. Mine are growing in a little bonsai pot that I bring in every year, and they bloom in the middle of winter.

My Leopard Lilly has not yet put out a flower stalk. Come to think about it, I think it happened in February, and I have a macro photo! I love that Lady Bug. What is it made of?

Aiyana- I found two ladybugs for one dollar! (The other one is green) at a dollar store...just made of plastic, but so far they have not faded and still have a nice sheen! They just spend their days crawling around in one tire garden, and posing for photo shoots...LOL...
