CACTUS MONDAY!!!!!

Here it is: My fabulous drawing of a Peyote Cactus! I drew it freehand from another photo in a book. That is why I shocked even my own self over it! My daughter says I used a form of shading called crosshatching...but I just kinda did it naturally...did not realize it was a REAL technique! LOLOL! This was a lot of fun...I have to admit...I am enjoying drawing more every day. Thanks for putting up with me, everybody! :) Oh...and BTW...my daugher starts DRAWING 1, in college on Wednesady night...and then she will give me classes based on what she has learned! I am so excited!

that sounds like fun! I will have to post the photo of the cacti...I have managed to grow from seed and keep alive for two years! I am so very proud of them...when I do ...you will be the first one I call on for an opinion...and some names for them!
you are well on your way with the drawing...it is lucky we have keyboards, or you may not even be able to read this...that is how gifted I am with pen and paper...or in this case..pencil!
I hope you are feeling much better and have a fantastic week!

That's a great little drawing! Your daughters plan is to teach what she learns is good, not only will you get lessons, but it will help her to remember what the professor said.

Julie! this is wonderful!! And I am so thrilled you are drawing everyday-and enjoying it. It does not take long for it to become a habit. You are making great strides already. Having your daughter help and share her classes-doesn't get any better than that.

Hi Julie, thanks for visiting my blog! Wow, you are a great gardener and a very talented artist! I think you did a great job on this one because I cannot draw/paint at all!

Love this. You did a wonderful job. I haven't gotten shading down the way I want it yet.

I have worked on mine some and will post it Monday before we leave for Alaska on Wednesday.

I have found I can post through my iphone, so I may do that!
