Somebody found some Mantids in Vero Beach, Florida...about 1.5 hours north of me.


This is the closest pic I can find to what the one looked like that I found as a child. Photo credit goes to What's That Bug, where you can see many other types of Mantis...very interesting site!!! The first one you see is one from Florida...a bronze looking feller!

okay i get it...here in england these are called 'stick insects'...but in soth africa we had the 'praying mantis'.sweet little fella.

I think we would call that a 'stick insect' too because they look like sticks. However, we do have the green praying mantis also.

Very cool-looking. They resemble the 'walking sticks' in Wisconsin.
